What can I expect at a Park Hills Congregational Meeting?
Each year, we gather as a church family to express our gratitude to God for what He has done in and through our people. We welcome new members to the church and it is also a chance to share the vision for where we see God leading in the future. The members of the church will also approve the financial plan for the coming year and confirm the election of elders to the elder board.
Can I come to the meeting even if I’m not an official member?
Absolutely! Please do join us! We believe it is important for everyone to celebrate together and hear of the plans for the future. This helps keep our entire church family informed. Members are accepted by the elders and publicly welcomed by the church family as a part of the church life rhythm. While only members will be voting, we do encourage everyone to be part of the discussions.
What is the role of the elders at PHC?
Park Hills Church elders are responsible for overseeing the financial, spiritual, and doctrinal well-being of the church. In addition, they manage the benevolent funds for our church family in need and also serve by helping with the vision and direction of the staff and church as a whole.  You will often see them  opening our services in prayer, supporting the staff and ministries in prayer, and leading various Life Groups. If necessary, they are also responsible for administering church discipline.
What is the purpose of the financial review/budget?
We believe in financial transparency and accountability, so the meeting will include a brief overview of the current year's finances, completed projects, the budget for the upcoming year, and any long-term growth or expansion plans. The next year’s budget is provided two weeks prior to the meeting and then reviewed and voted on by church members. The budget outlines how we plan to use the generous gifts we receive to fulfill our vision of knowing, loving, and following Jesus together.
